Eddy Temple-Morris is a name synonymous with the world of music. As a renowned DJ, he has graced the decks of iconic clubs worldwide, from London’s Ministry of Sound to Barcelona’s Razzmatazz. Eddy’s DJ prowess has taken him to exotic destinations, including Corfu’s full moon parties and Ibiza’s Manumission.
In the realm of radio, Eddy is a legend, with a fifteen-year tenure at Xfm, where he hosted the longest-running dance music show, “The Remix.” Eddy now presents the Mid Morning show on Virgin Radio and has, since 2018, been the station’s ‘Ken Bruce’ as the man trusted to steer the national network after the Chris Evans Breakfast Show.
Kevin Carey, our musical guide for the evening, has a rich history in the music world. He’s been a rock reviewer at Cambridge, a DJ at Harvard University’s radio station, and created a significant program on Miles Davis for Radio 3. His classical expertise includes a decade as a CD critic, focusing on Bach and Mahler. Kevin’s current pursuits include singing in three church choirs and serving as the Editor of the Mahler Journal.
This event pays homage to the concept of “Desert Island Discs,” which originated in a bomb-damaged Maida Vale studio in 1942. While not associated with the BBC, our event draws inspiration from this broadcasting institution.
